Sonnet Suites- Transmission Line Coupling Matrices
Extraction of Transmission Line Models
Sonnet's coupling matrix extraction capability provides transmission line models for multi-conductor 2.5D transmission lines. Any number of transmission lines may be modeled, and may exist on or within any number of dielectric layers.
- Any transmission line system with 1 or more conductors on 1 or more layers
- Extracts RLCG matrices, Zo matrices and (alpha, beta) values for each mode (conductor and conductor pair) per unit length (m)
- Outputs Spectre format; compatible with Spectre MTLINE model
Sonnet creates this model when you specify an N-Coupled Line Model output file in the Spectre format (Analysis -> Output Files in the project editor or Output -> NCoupled Line Model in the response viewer). This model produces a RLGC matrix which can be used in Cadence Virtuoso Spectre. The equivalent circuit is shown below for four lossless transmission lines.

Sonnet extracts the RLCG values for a unit length of a multi-conductor planar transmission line system. Transmission lines may be on any layer in the stackup, and any number of lines may be considered.
