Sonnet Suites - Equation-Driven Parameters
Variables and Equations for Sonnet geometry projects
With our new equation-based variables, you have greater flexibilty in parameterizing geometry and applying swept-parameter EM analysis.
This release introduces a new variable and equation feature that enables you to control geometry and material properties using equations based on mathematical functions (such as sine, cosine, natural logarithm, etc.).
A circuit property can be a function of one or more independent variables to provide advanced capabilities like:
- Enforcing geometry scaling by defining a variable as a multiple of another variable
- Simulating temperature effects on circuit response by defining metal or dielectric loss as a function of a temperature variable
- Defining your own frequency dependent properties by using the new FREQ variable in a material property variable equation
- Standard constants and variables for pi, speed of light, permittivity of free space, free space permeability, speed of light and more
- Controlling a circuit property based on a table of data from an external text file
