Enhancements and Bug Fixes in Release 17.54
Below is a summary of the new features that are now available in version 17.54 of Sonnet.
Sonnet now supports viewing far field patterns.
The graph tab now has two new menu items and corresponding tool bar buttons: New Smith Chart and New Cartesian Plot.
This version now supports cluster computing, providing you with the ability to split your analysis project into multiple jobs which may be processed in parallel on multiple computers to greatly reduce your processing time. An additional license is required.
Sonnet now provides analysis and creation of anisotropic dielectrics from within Cadence AWR's Microwave Office (MWO) v15. Creation of a anisotropic dielectric is now allowed from within MWO when Sonnet is chosen as the EM 3rd Party Solver. The anisotropic dielectric properties are passed to Sonnet during translation and Sonnet Project creation.
The following is a brief description of enhancements and bug fixes for release 17.54. If you wish to know more details for a particular entry, please contact Sonnet Support.
Fix #11982 - Project Editor sometimes uses co-calibrated ports instead of box wall ports when circuit is subdivided.
Fix #13260 - Project Editor crashes if you delete a dielectric layer with a linked reference plane.
Fix #12889 - Project Editor will copy entire dielectric library into the brick types, giving EG2120 error about Sapphire.
Fix #12576 - Edge vias are not drawn in Project Editor's 3D view.
Fix #13162 - Graph Tab gives blank plot if plotting vs parameter with a measurement/equation that uses FREQ.
Fix #13242 - Graph Tab crashes when changing measurement after using a saved graph.
Fix #12661 - Smith charts do not allow you to limit the frequency range like v16 allowed.
Fix #12657 - HSPICE file format for Pi and N-coupled Lines is not compatible with HSPICE.
Fix #09230 - The ADS Interface's "Import Mdif File" utility causes error "Duplicate reciprocal parameter" in ADS 2011 and above.
Fix #12823 - The AWR interface converts an AWR gap port to a co-calibrated port instead of a gap port.
Fix #10829 - Em should automatically fix boxwall ports which are immediately shorted out by a via/polygon combination.
Fix #12869 - Em may terminate with internal error during optimization if project includes any disabled goal sets.
Fix #12891 - Em crashes if circuit includes co-calibrated port with up and down polygon plane ground reference.
Fix #12979 - Em may crash if circuit has component below line of symmetry and ABS is enabled.
Fix #13034 - Em stops with internal error if optimization goals use ABS with something other than 300 target frequencies.
Fix #13166 - Em may terminate with error or crash when project has simplified co-calibrated port and parameters are swept.
Fix #13040 - Update Sonnet to use FlexNet version 11.16.2.
