Once the conversion is done, you need to complete the setup of your project in order to analyze the circuit. This is also an opportunity to check that your cell size is small enough to prevent open circuits or short circuits. Below is a list of the most common tasks that may need to be done before the analysis is run. If you use a template project, or import to present project, during the import, some of these tasks would become unnecessary if those settings are already correctly defined in the template or present project.

The GDSII Translator Tutorial uses an example to describe each of these steps in detail, some of which are performed while creating a template project.

This completes the basic process of performing a GDSII import. The next sections discuss troubleshooting the import process.
