The Calculation setup dialog box may be opened by any of these methods:
1. Selecting Graph - Calculations
2. Pressing the Calculations button from the Manage Curves dialog box
3. Pressing the Calculations button on the Graph toolbar of the Far Field Pattern Window.
When the Far Field Pattern tab is first opened, far field calculations are performed at a set number of angles, at your first frequency, and with port 1 set to 1 volt. You may change your calculated values using this dialog box. After changing your values, click the Calculate button.
The Calculations Setup dialog box contains three or four tabs: Angles, Ports, Frequencies, and Parameters (if your project uses parameters). Click on the appropriate tab to select which page you want to input your values for the calculation.
Note: The Far Field viewer allows values for Theta from 0 to 180 degrees. However, values of Theta greater than 90 degrees are below the horizon and are only useful for antennas without infinite ground planes. To view just the top hemisphere, sweep theta from 0 to 90 degrees and sweep phi from -180 to + 180 degrees.
Calculate: Click on this button to perform the calculations on the inputs to the Calculations Setup dialog box. Be sure to review the entries on all three pages of the dialog box before executing the calculation. The Far Field Viewer discards the previous set of calculated data and replaces it with the result of this calculation. Only one calculated data set is retained at any one time.
