Anti-virus software detects a threat in the Sonnet installation folder

Known Bugs

Symptoms

Your anti-virus software reports a threat for <Sonnet Installation Directory>\ bin\sunzip.exe where <Sonnet Installation Directory> is the location in which Sonnet is installed. If you use the default installation location, this would be

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sonnet Software\16.52\bin\sunzip.exe

Cause

Sunzip is a 3rd party open source library and the security certificate originally delivered in version 16.52 has since expired.

Workaround

If you are presently on Sonnet maintenance, then obtain a free upgrade to version 16.52.1. A new updated certificate for Sunzip is included in the 16.52.1 software. To obtain the upgrade, please contact your Sonnet representative or Sonnet support.

If you do not wish to upgrade to version 16.52.1, you must create an exception in your anti-virus software for the <Sonnet Installation Directory>\bin directory, where <Sonnet Installation Directory> is the location in which Sonnet is installed. For instructions on creating an exception, please refer to the documentation for your anti-virus software.
