Gerber Single Layer Import

Gerber Translator

When you select File => Import => Gerber (Single Layer) from the project editor menu, the following occurs:

  1. A Browse window opens which allows you to select the single Gerber file you wish to import.

  2. Once you select a Gerber file for import, the Import Control dialog box appears which allows you to assign the project to which you wish to import the Gerber file.

  3. When the Import Control dialog box is closed, the Gerber Importer window is opened which performs the translation. This window also allows you to select only part of your layer to import.

  4. Once you click on the Import button in the Gerber Importer Window, the Layer Mapping dialog box appears on your display. This dialog box allows you to map the Gerber file to a metal level in Sonnet.

  5. When you close the Layer Mapping dialog box, the Import Options dialog box appears so that you may select translation options.

  6. Once you have selected the translation options, the Import Status dialog box appears in which you execute the file import.

Once the Gerber file has been imported, you normally need to perform some minor adjustments using the project editor.
