A Sweep Set allows you to define a set of frequency sweeps in the Sweeps page of the Circut Settings dialog box. If you are performing a parameter sweep, the variables you wish to use, their data range and the type of parameter sweep is also included in the Sweep Set and if you click on the Perform parameter sweeps checkbox, a Variables section is added to the Sweep Set and includes all of the variables defined in your circuit and their nominal value. The controls in the sweep set are explained below.
NOTE: For sweep sets which contain parameter sweeps, each parameter sweep is performed for each of the frequency sweeps.
Sweep Set name: The Sweep Set name is automatically generated. Sweep sets are always numbered in consecutive order starting at one (1).
Use in analysis checkbox: A checkbox appears in front of each Sweep Set, frequency entry and variable entry. Selecting this checkbox includes the entry in the analysis. If this checkbox is cleared, the entry is retained in this page but not included in the analysis. This is useful if you wish to temporarily disable a sweep. If a variable is not used in a parameter sweep, the nominal value is used for the analysis.
Analysis Options: By default, any analysis uses the global options defined in the Em Options page of the Circut Settings dialog box. This is indicated by the Global Analysis Options icon in each sweep set. If you wish to override the global options for this sweep set, you may click on the icon to open the Override Analysis Options dialog box which allows you to set local options for this sweep set. If local options are defined, the Local Analysis Options icon is displayed in the sweep set instead.
Add Frequency Sweep drop list: You click on this icon to add a frequency sweep to your sweep set. You select the type of frequency sweep from the drop list and enter the desired values in the control fields. There are six types of frequency sweep available: Adaptive Sweep (ABS), Linear Sweep, Exponential Sweep, Frequency List, Single Frequency, and DC Frequency.
Add Parameter Sweep drop list: You click on this icon to add a parameter sweep to your sweep set. You select the type of parameter sweep from the drop list. Once you select a type of sweep, a Variable entry is created and you enter the desired values in the control fields. There are six types of parameter sweep available: Linear Sweep, Exponential Sweep, Value List, Single Value, Corner Sweep, and Sensitivity Sweep.
Double-click on any entry in the sweep set to place it in edit mode. Edit mode allows you to change the values for an entry. To see additional settings, click on the Settings icon . If there are no additional settings, then the icon does not appear in the entry. To close Edit mode and save your changes, click on the Save Changes icon . To close the Edit mode without saving any changes, click on the Cancel icon .
