Resistance3 is the series resistance (in ohms) between ports 1 and 2 with all of the other ports open-circuited assuming a PI-model. In the example below, the resistance3 calculation gives the value of R1+R2. Since port 3 is open-circuited, the impedance connected to port 3 is not included in the calculation. Any parasitics are not included in the resistance calculation. This equation is valid for any number of ports. All additional ports are simply open-circuited. This equation is often used to find the resistance in a center-tapped spiral inductor.
