Response File Entry dialog box
Project Editor - Generate Optional Output Files dialog box
The Response File Entry dialog box is opened when you click on the S, Y, Z Parameters button in the Generate Optional Output Files dialog box or click on the Edit button in the Generate Optional Output Files dialog box when a response file is highlighted in the output file list. This dialog box allows you to define for which network you wish another response file, whether you wish to apply de-embedding, the format of the response data, the type of parameter, the composition of the data, decimal places, and the filename.
Network: If this project is a Netlist project, you may select for which network you wish to specify an output file from the drop list which contains all the networks in your project. If the project is a geometry project, then this drop list is disabled.
Data Type: This allows you to select de-embedded or non-de-embedded data. For a discussion of de-embedding, see the Advanced Options dialog box.
Format: The output data may be formatted for compatibility with several different vendors. Select your choice from the drop list. Choices include:
· Touchstone - Default extension is sNp where N is the number of ports
· Touchstone v2 - Default extension is ts
· Data Bank - - Default extension is sNp where N is the number of ports
· Cadence - Default extension is dat
· Spreadsheet (comma separated values) - Default extension is csv
· MDIF (S2P) - Default extension is mdf - This format allows you to store a parameter sweep in one file and is intended to be used with the Keysight element S2PMDIF. This format is limited to circuits with 2 ports.
· MDIF (ebridge) - Default extension is mdf. - This format allows you to store a parameter sweep in one file and is intended to be used in Keysight with a DAC which can be created with the Keysight Interface, ebridge. This format allows circuits which use up to 6 ports.
Note that you may edit the filename and use any file extension you wish such as . d, . rsp, sNp, etc.
Parameter: Select which type of parameter: S-, Y- or Z-parameter from the drop list.
Complex: The response is a complex number composed of two parts. You may select what those two parts represent by selecting a choice from the drop list. The choices are:.
· DB - Angle
· Magnitude - Angle
· Real - Imaginary
Filename: Enter the desired filename for the file you are specifying in the File Name text entry box. You may specify an absolute or relative path.
High Precision: Clicking on this checkbox outputs high precision (16 figures) data for the response file.
Include Adaptive Data: Clicking on this checkbox includes all the discrete and adaptive data from an Adaptive Band Synthesis (ABS) analysis. If you wish to only export the discrete data points, disable this checkbox. The checkbox is set by default for all new projects.
Remember Settings: Clicking on this checkbox saves any selections you make for the next time this dialog box is accessed.
Factory Defaults: Clicking on this button changes all the settings in this dialog box to the defaults used upon installation of the software.
