Use Insert - Add Via - Edge Via to add an edge via to a polygon edge. To add an edge via, select Insert - Add Via - Edge Via, then click on the polygon edge to which you want the via added. A dark dashed line appears showing the location of the via. With the metalization turned on, the via posts are displayed. Each via post is a rectangular cylinder of metal extending between the present level to the next level above or below. The direction of the via is determined by the present selection in the Add Via menu. Each via has two via symbols which are either "up" triangles, indicating that the via connects this level to the next level above or "down" triangles indicating that the via connects this level to the next level down. If the via direction is Down to Ground, the edge via appears on every level from the present one down to ground.
If you wish to add multiple vias, press the shift key while making your menu selection.
To delete a edge via, return to pointer mode, by pressing the ESC key. Click on a triangle on the edge via to select it, then use Edit - Delete to delete it.
If you wish to make the edge via transverse multiple levels, see Object - Edge Via Properties.
The length of the via must be small with respect to the wavelength. If not true, subdivide the dielectric layer into multiple layers and have the via go through all of these layers.
