Resistance1 is one of the measurements available in the Manage Curves dialog box of a Graph Tab. Resistance1 is the resistance of a one-port or two-port circuit assuming a series RL. The units are based on the Resistance units setting. Any parasitics to ground at the selected port are included in the resistance calculation. For example, a one-port circuit might contain an extra parasitic, represented by ''Y'' in the following diagram:
where Leq and Req contain the effect of Y. In this case, the resistance calculation gives the equivalent resistance, Req.
This measurement is not valid for three or more ports. If the circuit is a two-port, the resistance is computed based on shorting the other port to ground as shown below:
Resistance1 is computed as follows:
where Ynn is the y-parameter for the selected port n from the Ports section of the Properties pane.
