S, Y, Z-Parameters

S-Parameters, Y-Parameters, and Z-Parameters are three choices available in the Manage Curves dialog box of a Graph tab. All three choices are available for a Cartesian graph and only S-Parameters are available for a Smith Chart. S, Y, and Z are abbreviations for the scattering matrix, admittance matrix, and impedance matrix of your circuit, respectively. Each matrix is a complex N by N matrix, where N is the number of ports.

When S, Y or Z-Parameters are selected as the measurement in the Manage Curves dialog box, the Properties section appears as shown below.

The above measurement defines the magnitude of S12, Y12 or Z12 in dB (depending on which is selected in the Measurement section). Please see the Measurement Properties topic for an explanation of each field in this dialog box.
