Export - Technology File

Select File - Export - Technology File when you wish to create and save a Sonnet technology file (.stf). This file contains information about your dielectric layers, metal types, brick materials, and the  top and bottom Metal types. There are several uses for the technology file:

• You may import this information into another Sonnet project by using the Circuit - Technology File - Load command.
• You may use the technology file as a template file when performing a DXF or GDSII import.
• You may use this file to define your substrate (dielectric stackup and materials) in the Cadence Virtuoso Interface, the Keysight ADS Interface and the Cadence AWR MWOffice Interface.

If the technology file contains proprietary Foundry information, then "Hidden" appears in any field in the user interface which uses encrypted information. Hidden fields may not be edited.

The exported technology file may also be saved as a Sonnet substrate file (.matl) for compatibility with older versions of Sonnet Software.
