License Server

You must decide on a license server. In the case of a standard evaluation or node-locked license, the local machine is the license server. The ethernet ID of this machine should be used as the host ID for licensing. If you have a hardware key, then it is attached to the local machine.

For a floating license, one machine in the network should be designated as the license server. If you are using a hardware key, this machine requires the hardware key attached to it. Client machines do not require a Host ID. The license manager, FLEXnet, executes on the license server.
