The Restrict Suite tab of the License page of the Sonnet Administration dialog box (Admin - Setup) allows you to limit the functionality of your Sonnet installation in order to evaluate different Sonnet Suites and Products. For details about what Sonnet products are available and their respective features, select Help - Sonnet Products from the main menu of any Sonnet program.
NOTE: Choosing a product with more capabilities than your present license will not enable higher-functionality suites.
You may choose between three radio buttons: Professional Suite - High Performance Solver, Professional Suite - Desktop Solver and Other suites. High Performance Solver allows you to access all Sonnet applications and provides you with an analysis engine capable of using up to 48 processing threads. Desktop Solver allows you access to all Sonnet applications and an analysis engine capable of using up to six processing threads. If you select Other suites, any of the limited Sonnet Suites are available and the rest of the controls in this dialog box are enabled. Each of the limited suites have an analysis engine with a single processing thread. These are explained below.
Suite Drop List: Select the Sonnet product you wish to evaluate from the drop list. The choices include Sonnet Level3 Gold, Sonnet Level2 Silver, Sonnet Level2 Basic, Sonnet LitePlus and Sonnet Lite.
Far Field Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, enables the Far Field Viewer which allows you plot far field radiation patterns.
GDSII Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, enables the GDSII translator which allows you to import and export GDSII formatted files from the project editor.
Keysight Interface Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, provides a seamless translation capability between Sonnet and Keysight ADS. From within the ADS Layout package you can directly create Sonnet geometry files. Em simulations can be invoked and the results incorporated into your design without leaving the ADS environment.
Broadband Spice Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, provides the ability to extract Broadband Spice models from your project's response data. You may set up a default Broadband Spice model to be extracted automatically at the end of the analysis, or you may extract the model from response data previously calculated.
MWOffice Interface Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, provides a completely integrated "solver on request" interface between Cadence AWR’s Microwave Office and Sonnet software. The interface allows you to stay completely in the Microwave Office environment using Sonnet as your EM analysis engine, or you may choose to edit your circuits in the Sonnet environment before running the EM analysis. Either way your results are easily integrated back into the Microwave Office environment. A third option allows you to export and import Sonnet projects to be used as EM structures in your Microwave Office project.
Gerber Option: This option, which may be added to some Sonnet products, enables the Gerber translator which allows you to import and export Gerber formatted files from the project editor. This option translates multiple Gerber layer files, including drill files, into one Sonnet project.
