Terminations

The Termination page of the Graph Options dialog box allows you to set the normalizing impedance for all the ports in your circuit. The normalizing impedance is represented by four numbers: resistance (ohms), reactance(ohms), inductance ( nH) and capacitance ( pF). Shown below is a diagram of the equivalent circuit of an em port.

•  Multiport Off: If the Multiport check box is off, then there is one entry row for the normalizing impedance. The four values which make up the normalizing impedance each have a text entry box and are applied to all the ports in the circuit. In this case, the normalizing impedance, Z0 is displayed in the Terminations panel.
•  Multiport On: If the Multiport check box is on, then each port has its own entry line, consisting of four text entry boxes in which you enter the four numbers which represent the normalizing impedance.  In this case, "Multiport" appears in the Terminations panel followed by the normalizing impedance for each port in the circuit.

NOTE:      The normalizing impedances are ignored if Y- or Z-Parameters are specified for output. Y- and Z-Parameters are always normalized to one. For example, for a one-port, Z11 is the actual input impedance, in ohms, of your circuit.
