Once you have completed the setup of your Sonnet simulation environment, specified your analysis frequencies and specified which types of models you wish to create, you may wish to save all of these settings for use with this or other SonnetEM views. In order to save all the settings, you select Session - Save State from the main menu of the Cadence Virtuoso Interface main window which opens the Save State dialog box. Controls are detailed below.
Save State Option: Select which type of Save State you wish to create by selecting the desired radio button. Saving to the directory makes the saved state available only to the user who is saving the state. Saving to a cell view assigns the save state to a design, and is accessible to other users. Saving to a Preset also assigns the save state to a design and creates a device preset file for use as a future device preset.
Directory Options: The name of the directory to which you are saving the state appears here but may not be changed; it is your Sonnet user’s directory. You may enter the name under which you wish to save the state or select an existing state. This section of the dialog box is only enabled if the Save State Option is set to Directory.
Cellview Options: Select the design to which you are saving the state by making selections from the Library name and Cell name from the drop lists. You may enter a new State Name by editing the entry or select an existing state name from the drop list.
Preset Options: The name of the state will be called "Preset" which will be saved to the Library and Cellview for the current design.
Description: You may enter a description of the state in the this area to identify the state for future use.
What to Save: Select which property sets you wish to include in the state. This would allow you to save different property sets such as the Substrate File and Analysis Box to one state and the Frequencies, Options and Calculations in another state.
When you click on the OK button, the property sets you selected are saved to the state name you entered. If you are saving to an existing state, note that the prior contents of the existing saved state are deleted and only the property sets selected are saved to the updated state. You may later use this state to restore these settings to the Cadence Virtuoso Interface (Session - Load State). To select all the property sets, click on the Select All button. To clear all the property set checkboxes, click on the Clear All button.
