The Via Metal Editor dialog box is opened when you click on the Add Via or Edit button (when a via metal type is selected) on the Via metals tab of the Materials page in the Circuit Settings dialog box or the Metal Library dialog box. When this dialog box is invoked from theVia metals tab it allows you to define a new via metal for your project. When this dialog box is invoked from the Metal Library dialog box it allows you to define a new via metal or edit a via metal for your local or global library.
Using Variables in this dialog box
To select a metal from a metal library to add to your project, click on the Library button. This opens the Metal Library dialog box which allows you to select a via metal from your library or a global library. This button does not appear in the dialog box when it is invoked to add or edit a metal for a library.
Name: Enter a name for the via metal in the Name text entry box. This field is optional. If you do not enter a name, a default name is automatically assigned.
Model: Select the loss mode you wish to use for this via metal from this drop list. The attribute entry boxes change depending on the type of via metal loss model selected. Follow the links for a definition of the via metal type and an explanation of its properties.
Once you have defined one or more via metal types, you can use them in your circuit.
Pattern: Use the arrow buttons to step through the available display patterns you may assign to this metal. This pattern is used to identify this metal when it is used in your circuit.
