When you select Insert - Add Project Element from the project editor main menu, a Browse window appears on your display which allows you to select the Sonnet project file you wish to use in your network. Once you select a project, the Add/Edit Element dialog box appears on your display, configured to input a project. This dialog box is also opened if you double-click on a project element entry in the netlist so that you may edit the entry.
File: This text entry box displays the project being used for the project element. If you are adding a project element, the project you selected in the Browse window that appeared after you selected the Add Project Element command is entered here. If you wish to change the project, you may directly edit the name or click on the Browse button to the right to open a browse window which allows you to select a project. This allows you to change the project being used.
Node Assignment: There is a text entry box for each Port in the circuit and one more for the ground reference (REF). Enter the node in the netlist to which you wish the port to correspond in the appropriate text entry box. REF may be connected to GND or to a node in the network.
Element Parameters: If there are variables defined in the project file you are adding to the network, they appear in this section of the dialog box. Enter the desired nominal value for the variable in the appropriate text entry box. The value may be either a floating point number or a variable defined in the netlist project.If you wish to use a variable for an Element Parameter, click on the in the drop list and select an existing variable. If you wish to create a new variable, select <Add Variable> from the drop list. The Add/Edit Variable dialog box is opened which allows you to create a new variable.
When the project element is added to your network, its entry is listed as "PRJ."
