The General page of the Edit Preferences dialog box appears when you click on "General" in the sidebar menu of the Edit Preferences dialog box in the graph tab. This page allows you to choose some display options detailed below.

Initial Graph Type: Select what type of plot you want as your default from this drop list. Next time you open a graph, it will open this graph type.

Default Graph Title: This setting determines the initial title of your graph. You can change it later using Graph - Graph Options. The first option (Use first loaded filename) defaults to the name of the first file you loaded. The second option allows you to set it to a custom title, which will be the same for all graphs. If you don't want a title leave the entry blank.

Auto Scale - Recalculate when data changes: Select this checkbox if you wish the auto scaling to be recalculated when the data in your plot changes. If this checkbox is not selected, then only the data which is included in the present scale is displayed.

Hover Over- Data Info: If this check box is selected, a pop-up will appear when you hover over a curve, giving you additional information about the curve.

Check Files - Always check for updated files: Select this checkbox to have Sonnet automatically check your project(s) for updates when you have a plot open. Enter the desired time between automatic updates of project files in the text entry box.

User Equation File (Graph Tab only): A user equation file is a file that contains one or more equations that can be used in Sonnet graphs. The equations in the file are appended to the built-in Sonnet measurements. Please contact Sonnet Technical Support if you wish to create your own equation file.
