Wrong Value Specified to Define Loss for a Via Metal in the Keysight ADS Interface

Known Bugs

Symptoms

In the Keysight ADS Interface, if you have a Via metal which uses the "Volume" model and defines the loss using Sheet Resistance at DC, then change the model type to "Array," the Sheet Resistance at DC entry box still appears, but the label disappears from the Specify Using drop list as pictured below.

Cause

Sheet Resistance at DC may be used to define the loss for a "Volume" model, but not for the "Array" model, so when "Array" is selected for the model type, both the drop list and the text entry box for Sheet Resistance at DC should be updated with a value that may be used for the "Array" model. This is due to a known bug in the software, which will be fixed in a future release.

Workaround

Click on the Specify Using droplist and select Conductivity, Resistance or Resistance Per Via. The text entry box is updated for the type of value you choose and the label reappears on the droplist.

This bug was fixed in version 16.54.
